I have an innate curiosity for the natural world, exploring every aspect of the outdoors as soon as I could walk. My fascination with nature and yearning to explore led me to do a degree in Natural Sciences followed by award-winning PhD and postdoctoral research at Durham University in the UK, Harvard University in the USA and McGill University in Canada.

I have travelled through 6 continents, documenting and photographing as I wander. My journeys have taken me up some of the world's highest mountains, I have flown over shifting Arctic sea-ice in helicopters bound for remote field camps, stared up in awe at the enchanting wildlife hiding in the rainforests of Borneo and dived on some of the most biodiverse reefs in the world.

My work involves following scientists or a hunch to document our changing world. You can find some of the work I do for the media and scientists on this site, please feel free to get in touch if you are interested in working together.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.
— Mark Twain
We shall not cease from exploration,
And the end of all our exploring,
Will be to arrive where we started,
And know the place for the first time.
— T.S. Eliot
